VEGF inhibitor

A substance that blocks the activity of an enzyme needed to form blood vessels called vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). Blocking VEGF will prevent the formation of blood vessels cancer cells need to grow. Some VEGF inhibitors are used to treat cancer. Also called vascular endothelial growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor.
